Name: Arvelien Elenruinë "Starfire" Eressea
Age: 6934
Race: Noldor
Home: Gondolin, Beleriand, First Age
Occupation: Wanderer, vagabond
Family: father, Olondo (deceased FA); mother, Taurwen (deceased FA); brother, Turion (deceased FA); daughter, Istelien (missing since SA)
Appearance: 6'4", thin, fair-skinned, light reddish hair
History: Arvelien was born in the great white city of Gondolin in I 117 (making her 6934 years old) . Her father, Olondo, served as High King Turgon's chief architect and so was instrumental in the building of the city. Arvelien, however, took no interest in her father's work, preferring rather to scale the imposing Encircling Mountains and explore its forests and peaks. It was this nature that saved her life when in I 510 the city was betrayed by Maeglin and destroyed by Morgoth the Defiler's forces. At the fall, Arvelien was exploring a bear cave and did not hear the horn summoning all defenders home. When she emerged after dark, the sky was glowing orange from the fires of the city. She beheld her home ruined and ablaze from atop a mountain and wept.
In her heart, Arvelien knew her father and the rest of her kin were all slain, so she departed the lands in grief. She wandered east towards Forodwaith, losing herself amongst the vast unending pine forests of the north. She spent an age in exile, avoiding the conflicts of the War of Wrath, and thus surviving the sundering of Beleriand.
After the utter destruction of Beleriand, Arvelien returned to the world, taking up with Celebrimbor's elves in Eregion. Thereafter she dwelt in Ost-in-Edhil, and though she never married, she bore a daughter there, though she has not been since in an Age. The loss of her beloved Gondolin ever weighed on her spirit, preventing her from forming truly close relationships. Celebrimbor named her "Eressea" both for her solitary nature.
At last, she was drawn again to the world by Sauron's rise. She followed Gil-galad and his army into the Last Alliance and fought the Shadow at the Battle of Dagorlad. It was there that she was pierced by a Morgul blade by the Witch-King of Angmar himself. Thought lost to the Shadow, Elrond Half-elven saved her and returned her to Imladris. There, Arvelien spent most of the Third Age recovering from such a deathy wound. Finally, in III 3017, she awoke from her slumber.
In the time since her awakening, Arvelien had grown disdainful of the race of Men, believing them to be responsible for much of the evil in this world. Her wanderings led her through Eriador, Rohan and into the human lands of Gondor. There, she took up with Elessar, known as Aragorn, and followed his company to the great battle of Minas Tirith. Seeing the strength of Men in Elessar and his companions, Arvelien's heart began to soften. At the fall of the Black Gate and Sauron's fall, she came face-to-face with the strength of Men, and seeing them strong against the Shadow. As she left to return to her wanderings, she found herself viewing Men with kindness and dedicating what little time she had left in Middle-earth to seeing them endure.
